Hint: It has nothing to do with the Hebrew Noah Myth. This is a greek flood Myth.

Chosen Answer:

It was Deukalion (who was actually more of a Titan than he was a man – his father was a Titan and his mother was a Nereid) and his cousin Pyrrha (whose father was also a Titan), to whom Deukalion was married.

They weren’t chosen, as such: It was Deukalion’s father Prometheus who leaked him the information that Zeus was planning to deluge the Earth, and instructed him to save himself and his loved one(s) by escaping in a wooden box or a chest – not a ship.

& it actually is very closely related to the story of Noah’s Flood – it’s practically analogous to it, just as to most other Deluge stories from all over the world, especially in Mesopotamia, Africa and the ancient Americas.

In fact it is said that the Titan Iapetos, the father of Prometheus, grandfather of Deukalion and Pyrrha, and progenitor of the human race through his grandchildren, is supposed to be roughly equivalent to Noah’s son Yepheth (Japheth).
